Joe and I made a stop this afternoon to visit our granddaughters and give them their Easter bags. Yes, bags...because they have their own sweet little baskets. We were greeted with squeals and hugs, which we absolutely love, and plenty of happy proclamations!
"The Easter bunny is coming tonight!"
"Tonight, the Easter bunny is going to bring candy and toys!"
It sounded as though Santa would be coming! Ha! Ophelia was especially animated! When she asked what we were going to do tomorrow, I told her that we would be going to church to celebrate.
"Celebrate what, Grandma?"
"Jesus!"
"Jesus," she repeated after me in a very quiet, reverent, and awe-filled voice. I loved hearing her saying His name that way!
Praying that your family and mine will always remember who Easter is really about...even when we celebrate with colored eggs, candies, baskets, and fun! Have a blessed and happy Easter, my friends!
